Wichita Native Davontae Harris Selected by Bengals in NFL Draft
With the 151st selection of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals called out the name of a Wichita native.
Davontae Harris, a 2013 graduate of Wichita South high school, went on to become a three time All-American for Illinois State, where as a senior he finished the year with 57 tackles and 2 interceptions. Now a fifth round draft choice, he'll compete for a spot in the Bengals secondary.
As a senior at Wichita South, Harris suffered torn large and small intestines after being stepped on with a cleat, surviving the injury to become a three-year starter for the Redbirds.
