PITTSBURG, Kan. - After taking a 21-0 lead into halftime, the East was able to hang on for a seven point victory in Pittsburg Saturday night.
Marysville's Jack Blumer tossed a beauty on a fake punt pass to set up a score of his own to take the 21 point halftime lead. He was named as East squad MVP for his efforts.
In the second half, West squad MVP Jarrett Jurgens from Scott City and Derby's Brody Kooser each scored on direct snap runs to get the score to 21-14, but the West was unable to complete the comeback, getting stopped on fourth down with just over a minute to play.
The West now leads the all-time series 27-17-1. Next year's game is set to be played in Dodge City.
