Strong defensive effort leads Circle by Clearwater

Third ranked Circle made a statement on Tuesday, cruising past Clearwater 47-22 to keep pace with Nickerson atop the 4A standings.

The Thunderbirds gave up just four field goals across the final three quarters, including allowed just five points in the second and third quarters combined as their defense lead the way in a low scoring game.

The Indians got out to a fast start, jumping up 9-4 only to see Circle take a lead early in the second and never look back.

Kimalee Cook lead the way with 14 for the T-Birds who improved to 13-2 with the big win. Circle will meet El Dorado on Friday night, with a big rematch against McPherson on the horizon the following the week. Mac is responsible for one of Circle's two losses this season.
