South boys edge out East in season opener

WICHITA, Kan.--- The East Blue Aces started their season opener against South fast and aggressive.
Getting out to an early lead, the Blue Aces held a 5-point advantage at the end of the first quarter. But the Titans held East to only nine points in the second quarter which ultimately let South pass them and take the lead. The Titans won 61-59 over East.

Even though east made seven three-pointers compared to South's five, the Titans made 59 percent of their free throws. East made 48 percent from the line.
South's Makye Loggins led both teams in scoring, knocking down 22 points with four triples.
He was followed by teammate Darryon Frierson who totaled 14 points. Dayalan Jones was East's top scorer recording 13 points.
