South boys clear early deficit, win 35-31

The Wichita South Titans found themselves in an early 11-3 hole, but climbed out for the 35-31 win.

West could not have started the game any better.

After winning the tip-off, the Pioneers found Geremiah Moore in the corner and he hit the three on the first play of the game.

West’s Jaylin Henderson got open on the wing and hit a high, arcing three-pointer of his own to help build an early 11-3 lead.

South remained calm, though. Big man Romao Townes picked up a few offensive rebounds and converted to bridge the gap.

His teammates found him down low a few times as well.

Midway through the second quarter, South’s Jamari Robinson got a steal and pushed it ahead to Makye Loggins who hit the tough mid-range shot.

South led 18-17 at halftime.

This game was sloppy early. Both teams were in the bonus midway through the second quarter.
