Coming off a 55-0 loss to Pratt and still playing with a banged up offense, Hesston knew they would have their hands full in their district opener against Smoky Valley. But the talented Viking team was too much for them to handle.
Smoky Valley handed Hesston a second straight shutout loss, this one to the tune of 28-0. Lane Schrag led the way for the Vikings having a hand in all four touchdowns, three through the air and another on the ground. The second shutout of the year for the Viking defense, meanwhile, puts them at allowing 15 total points through four games.
The Vikings will look to stay perfect going to Clay Center next week. Hesston will try to end their two game skid in a game with rival Halstead.
