Salina Central defeats Salina South for second straight Mayor's Cup

SALINA, Kan. Salina Central won its second consecutive Mayor's Cup with a 17-7 win over South at Salina Stadium.

Both teams were looking for their first win of the season.

Jackson Kavanaugh found Quinn Stewart for a 16-yard touchdown in the first quarter to put the Mustangs on the board first.

South responded with 27 seconds left in the first quarter on a pass from Terran Galloway to David Ollenberger.

Central faked a punt and Jaxon Kolzow's pass was intercepted by AJ Johnson.

The win marks the first time Central has won the Mayor's Cup back-to-back since 2004 and 2005.
