Rawlins County came into the matchup with a 16 and 7 record. The Quinter Lady Bulldogs entered the game with a 10 and 12 record.

The game was originally slated to be played at Russell High School. On Wednesday a boiler failed and caused the building to be closed for the rest of the week. Due to this the game was moved to the campus of Barton Community College.

Both teams started the game out very sluggish. They each had only recorded one basket by the four minute mark in the first quarter. Rawlins County found a rhythm and got out to a four point lead.

Quinter would get a basket at times to narrow the lead, but they fell into foul trouble late in the second quarter. Rawlins County would go five of twelve from the free throw line in the second quarter. That helped them to a 17 to 14 lead at halftime.

The Lady Buffaloes took over the game in the third quarter. They scored 16 points in the quarter. Nine of those points came from three made three pointers.

Angela Singhateh and Kierstyn Domsch both scored 16 points in the game for Rawlins County and led all scorers.

Quinter's Andrea Charles led her team with 12 points.

"I didn't think we shot the ball well, but we did enough in the other areas to get us the win," said Rawlins County Head Coach Brad Pfortmiller. "I just thought we were just a little bit tight to start with. In the third quarter we changed up our defense and made more shots that put the game away. I thought in the first half we missed a lot of shots we should have finished."

The Lady Buffaloes will face the winner of the Central Plains versus Osborne game for a chance to go to the State Tournament.
