The Pratt Greenbacks won the 4A DII State Title in 2016 and they have every reason to believe they will repeat this year.

While the Greenbacks are young on defense with only one returning player, they return most of their starters on offense. That includes senior quarterback Landen Studer, who threw for an efficient 990 passing yards on 59 percent completion and an 11/4 TD/INT ratio.

It also includes junior running back Travis Theis, who rushed 269 times for 1,975 yards and 24 rushing scores.

Theis impressed the social media world when he set a PR (personal record) for a squat clean of 335 pounds in early August.

He said records are fun, but it takes more than brawn to keep the train moving.

"It's fun but it's not all about strength. it helps but it's definitely a mental game," he said. "We prepare just as well or better than any other team on the schedule for sure. We have one of the best coaching staffs in the state for sure."

Pratt opens the season at home against Larned September 1st.
