Pratt takes battle of unbeatens

PRATT, Kan. (KWCH) -- Pratt outlasts Andale 21-19 to advance to the 3A State Championship game.

The Greenbacks also handed Andale its first loss of the season, a team that previously shut out six opponents.

Head Coach Jamie Cruce said the defense won this game for them.

"We didn't play real well in the first half, we were only down 7-0," he said. "We had a good second half. defensively had a heck of a game."

Travis Theis moved from running back to quarterback this season and had a stellar first season under center. Theis said playing for a State Championship his senior year is a dream come true.

"Pretty overwhelmed with joy honestly. This was a dream come true. We wanted Andale since the first week and we got them. We played with a lot of heart tonight," he said.

Pratt plays Sabetha in the 3A State Championship game next Saturday in Hutchinson.
