Otis-Bison has been known to play a slow-it-down offense for most of the season. Tonight, they sped things up in the first quarter. This allowed them to jump out to a 16 to 8 lead at the end of the quarter.
The Lady Cougars only allowed six points by the Lady Mustangs in the second quarter. In contrast, Otis-Bison doubled their points making it 32 to 14 at halftime.
By the fourth quarter, Otis-Bison rotated in their subs as they had a 20-point margin.
The game ended with a final score of 54 to 33.
Maddie Wiltse lead all scorers with 33 points on the night. She scored one three-pointer, was six for six from the free throw line, and made 12 baskets. Cora Anderson contributed 12 points to the final total for the Lady Cougars.
"It's so hard for anyone to guard Maddie," said Otis-Bison Head Coach Robert Trapp. "Especially in the second half when Sylvan would come out, we dumped it to Cora Anderson and that freed up Maddie."
The win gives Otis-Bison a berth in the Sub-State round next week. They will face Central Plains for the Regional Championship.
