WICHITA, Kan.--- Northwest was trying to close out the season undefeated and the last hurdle standing in it's way was Southeast in the last week of the regular season schedule.
The Golden Buffaloes struggled against a tough Grizzlies defense and were unable to convert on downs for the first drive of the game.
However, some credit to Southeast's defense as it recovered an early fumble which the offense couldn't capitalize on.
Northwest stepped on the gas from there, finding the endzone three times before the end of the first quarter.
A threat on both sides of the ball and leading a balanced offense, the Grizzlies scored through the air but found most of their success on the ground.
The Northwest offensive line was able to open some big holes for the running backs to break through and put up some major yardage.
By halftime, Northwest found itself with a 42-0 lead and hoping to pull off it's fourth shutout of the season.
Coming back for the second half, Southeast still couldn't get the ball in the endzone or pull off a field goal to avoid the goose egg.
And while the Grizzlies weren't on the full attack in the last two quarters, they scored two more times for a final score of 55-0 and their eighth straight win of the season.
The Golden Buffs wrap up the season with a 3-5 record.
