Emporia came out with some momentum, recovering a fumbled punt early and making some big defensive stops. But a key play early came on a Jace Stewart long TD pass to Spencer Stewart, or at least it appeared to be. The play came on a 4th and long, but an ineligible man downfield call negated the play.

Northwest began to roll at that point. On the ensuing drive, QB Reagan Jones broke off a long TD run on a keeper to put the Grizzlies up 7-0.

Jones kept things up with his legs early in the 2nd, scoring again to put Northwest up 14-0.

Emporia quickly answered that score, but the Spartans couldn't keep up with the high powered Grizzly attack the rest of the way.

Northwest gets a rematch with Bishop Carroll in the sectionals. The Grizzlies won the first game between the two, 23-22 on a game winning field goal as time expired.
