Northwest rolls past Great Bend

WICHITA, Kan. Northwest rolled past Great Bend 48-14 Friday night in Class 5A regionals.

Julius Bolden put the Grizzlies on the board first, but Great Bend responded immediately on the ensuing drive. Great Bend quarterback Dalton Miller found Alex Schremmer for the 60-plus-yard run to tie the game in the first quarter.

That was the closest the game would get, as a pick from Northwest's Wetu Kalomo set the Grizzlies up for another Bolden touchdown to put Northwest up 21-7 at the end of the first quarter.

The Grizzlies blew the game wide open in the second half, blowing past the Panthers 48-14.

Great Bend ends its season at 5-5. Northwest moves on to 10-0 and will host Bishop Carroll next week.
