WICHITA, Kan.--- Northwest has held onto an undefeated record all season long. They began the season with a 4-point win over Bishop Carroll in week one and the Eagles had a chance for revenge in the 5A state quarterfinals.
Carroll had only lost two games during the season, one of them being to the Grizzlies, but they averaged over 33 points per game headed into this sectional round.
Northwest averaged over 52 points per game.
Looking for the upset, Carroll started off fast getting the first points on the board with a touchdown but missed field goal attempt.
Northwest answered right back with two more touchdowns before halftime, both coming from Reagan Jones.
The Eagles would keep the game within arms reach until the fourth quarter when the Grizzlies bumped up their offense.
Carroll couldn't keep up because Northwest's defense also had a great 4th quarter which sealed the deal for the Grizzlies.
Northwest will face Maize in the sub-state/ semifinal round on Friday, Nov. 22nd.
Maize beat undefeated Maize South to advance and the Eagles are now 10-1.
