A complete game, 7 strikeout performance from Maize South's Ashlie Thissen set the tone for a pair of wins in the Mavs favor Tuesday on the road at Andover Central.
The Mavs took a 2-0 lead, scoring one run each in the second and third before Central tied the game up at 2. Then tied again at 4 entering the sixth, Maize South would score one in the sixth and two in the seventh to lock in a game one victory.
Maize South got the sweep in game two, a high scoring affair at 12-9. The Mavs took a slim 9-8 lead to the seventh inning, scoring three runs to put the game away.
