WICHITA, Kan. Maize South knocked off Goddard in a thriller Friday night, 34-32 at Maize South High School. Kaydyn Davison completed a 4th quarter comeback with a three pointer to finally propel the Mavs ahead with less than 10 seconds to play.
Goddard led at the end of every quarter, including a 27-20 lead after three quarters, but Maize South hit some clutch shots with time winding down, including the go-ahead three from Davison. Katie Wagner was responsible for several critical baskets late, and on the final possession kicked it out to Davison on the open look.
Goddard had one final chance, but Kade Hackerott, who was clutch for them in the 2nd half, couldn't get through the Mav defenders to get a clean shot off.
