Maize South softball wins a thriller over BVSW

Maize South got off to a hot start, and was able to hold on late for a 7-6 win over Blue Valley Southwest Thursday in the 5A State Softball Quarterfinals.

The Mavs jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the 1st Inning, but BVSW came roaring back. In the top of the 6th Leah Self hit a sac fly, and an overthrow led to two Maize South runs, which proved to be the winners.

Maize South advances to play Shawnee Heights Friday morning at 11:00 am.
