Tied at 38 in the fourth quarter, the Derby Panthers scored 7 unanswered, allowing just four points over the final six-plus minutes in pulling away to top Maize 50-42 Tuesday night.
The game was back and forth all night, with Derby looking like they were going to pull away late in the first half only to see a 6-point lead disappear due to back-to-back three's from Sydney Holmes, tying the game at 24 at half.
The back and forth nature continued after half, with neither side leading by more than three until late in the third when a Sydney Nilles triple made it 36-32 through three quarters.
Then in the fourth, Maize came back to tie it at 36 and again 38 before Derby put together the run and never looked back.
The win moves Derby to 3-1 on the season, with their final game of 2019 coming Friday as they host Newton.
