(CIK) The Larned Lady Indians captured the third place trophy at the 2019 Hilltop Classic by defeating the Little River Lady Redskins 46 to 29.

The second to last game of the evening on the campus of Barton Community College saw the 9 and 4 Lady Redskins take on a 4 and 6 Lady Indians.
Larned took the opening tip off and made the initial play count for two. They quickly followed that up with another score.
Little River would then come back and take a four point lead.
The Lady Indians began to apply a half court press with man-to-man defense to generate turnovers and regain the lead.
At halftime, Larned led 21 to 11. They also turned the Lady Redskins over ten times in the first half. The would end the game with 21 turnovers.
After the break, Little River picked up two quick baskets, but Larned quickly countered and expanded upon their lead. The lead would reach 20 points in the fourth quarter.
Larned's Katelynn Sanger lead all scorers with 16 points, that included two three-pointers and going six of eight from the free throw line. Baylea Perez also had 11 points for the Lady Indians.
For Little River, Kaylie Zimmerman lean all of their scorers with 11 points including going four of four from the free throw line.
"We always are checking on their guards and we knew our guards could create pressure," said Larned Head Coach Ashley Crosby. "The pressure is always there for us and we will use it when we can."
The Larned Lady Indians leave the Hilltop Classic with a record of 5 and 6. The Little River Lady Redskins finish the tournament with a record of 9 and 5.
