DERBY, Kan. (KWCH) -- Derby senior center Kennedy Brown made her long-anticipated college decision Saturday night on Twitter, committing to Oregon State University.
The senior forward narrowed down her finalists to the Oregon State Beavers, UCLA Bruins, Louisville Cardinals, Oklahoma Sooners, Baylor Lady Bears, Oregon Ducks, and Tennessee Lady Vols in late March.
The five-star recruit is listed as the 19th best prospect in the country, and the 4th best center in the country, according to ESPN.
Brown led Derby to its first state championship in school history this past season, with a 50-35 victory against Olathe East. She averaged 14.4 points, 12 rebounds and 4.2 blocks per game during her junior season.
