It took three sets to do it, but Andover got their 25th win of the year over Maize South in a top ten matchup.
The Mavericks, after a set-point ace off the net by libero Corinn Sokoll, jumped out to the early lead winning the set 25-20.
In the second set, Andover got revenge, taking the set 25-22 to send it to three. Maggie Creitz came through with the set winning kill to put us there.
Then in the third, Andover maintained control for most of the set, but Maize South stayed within a few points for most of the set. But facing match point, the Maverick defense was unable to make a play on the spike from Caleigh Haetten, giving the Trojans the three set win, 20-25, 25-22, 25-22.
Andover moves to 25-3 on the year after defeating host Valley Center in two sets to open up the triangular. Maize South goes 1-1 in the tri, also defeating Valley Center in straight sets.
