The game was first home game for the Lady Panthers after playing five contests on the road.
Great Bend took an early lead in the first quarter. They were up 8 to 4 at one point. Hutchinson came back late in the quarter and led 10 to 8 as time expired.
The Lady Salthawks expanded their lead by scoring 12 points in the second quarter. They also held Great Bend to only eight more points in the period. Hutchison used a full court press to limit Great Bend's scoring opportunities.
The Lady Panthers came out of the locker room and started to chip away at the lead in the third quarter. Jacylnn Schroeder and Sydney Unruh both scored one three pointer each while Jenna Mauler tallied two more. They climbed to within five points at the end of the quarter, 35 to 30.
"We tried to run a set at the end of the third quarter and turned it over,"said Hutchinson Head Coach Connor Reilly. "We came out in the fourth quarter and ran the same set and scored."
The Lady Salthawks added 12 more points in the fourth quarter. Half of those came from free throws after Great Bend started to foul to gain possession.
"After dropping our first game, our girls really responded well and we've won three straight," said Coach Reilly.
Gabbie Posch of Hutchinson lead all scorers with 11 points, including the team's lone three pointer. Tina Robertson and Mekenzie Hefley both contributed 10 points.
Great Bend's high scorer was Jenna Mauler with nine points.
