Hesston loses Parker Roth, wins first round over Collegiate

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) -- Hesston is a completely different team with running back Parker Roth on the field (6-1 in games he appeared, 0-2 in games missed). Unfortunately for the Swathers, Roth left the cross-district game Friday night with a left knee injury and did not return.

Roth amounted 66 yards on 9 carries and a touchdown in his nearly two quarters of play.

The Swathers prevailed and pulled the 42-28 road win over Wichita Collegiate without their rushing leader.

Cameron Cox was responsible for 348 of the Swathers' 480 total yards. The quarterback threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns, and added 143 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Hesston travels to Smoky Valley in the regional round next week.
