Haven never trailed Friday, opening their game with Hoisington on an 8-0 run and not looking back in a big 71-47 win over the Cardinals.

The loss marks the first Central Kansas League loss of the season for Hoisington, who entered play with just two losses to non-league foe St. John.

Wyatt Carmichael lead four Wildcats in double-figures with 17 as Haven won games back-to-back nights after dropping their first contest of the season Tuesday against Hesston.

Despite the slow start, Hoisington stayed in the game until the fourth quarter where Haven pulled away, outscoring the Cardinals 23-9 and not looking back.

The Haven win means there is now a three-way tie atop the CKL, with Haven, Hoisington and Haven all sitting with just one league loss and no remaining games against one-another.
