The Lady Wildcats entered the contest ranked number two in Class 3A by the KBCA.
The first quarter started slowly with Hoisington scoring first. Haven quickly found the basket to tie. They took the lead shortly after.
Hoisington tried to claw back into the game by shooting three-pointers. They made two in the second quarter. Unfortunately for them, Haven would answer back with three treys of their own.
At the end of the first half Haven lead 28 to 17.
The third quarter was when Haven extended their lead and put away the game. The Lady Wildcats scored 13 points to Hoisington's five.
Haven's Arie Roper lead all scorers with 14 points on the night. Faith Paramore scored 10 points despite being in foul trouble for much of the game.
For Hoisington, Kelsi Dalton led the Lady Cardinals with 10 points.
"I thought we shared the ball tonight and played pretty well," said Haven Head Coach Dwight Roper. "Faith Paramore was in foul trouble most of the night. We couldn't get a rhythm. I thought everyone did a great job picking up and making up for it."
One year ago the Lady Wildcats lost assistant coach David Chamberlain in a car wreck. "I think he would be really proud of us," said Arie Roper after the game.
"This team epitomizes what Coach Chamberlin was all about," added Head Coach Roper. "Playing tough, playing together, and sticking together. He was very big on that."
The Lady Wildcats improve to 12 and 3 on the season. The Hoisington Lady Cardinals fall to 5 and 9.
