Goddard advances with 32-14 win over Rose Hill

GODDARD, Kan. It was an ugly game by way of turnovers and penalties, but it was a game Goddard controlled throughout, as the Lions advance in the playoffs after beating Rose Hill 32-14 Thursday night.

Goddard jumped out to a 22-0 lead, before Bryson Evans found Spencer Nolan, who flipped it to Koby Campbell on a wild Rose Hill touchdown.

Then the Rocket defense stepped up just before the half, as Luke Witt picked off Kaeden Hoefer at the goal line.

But in the 2nd half, Goddard settled back in, Hoefer scored on a 1-yard keeper to extend the lead to 29-7. The defense took over, and the Lions added a field goal before things finished up.

Goddard advances to play the winner of Abilene vs. McPherson Friday night.
