No team losses or individual tournament losses for Emma Whitaker in 2016. Arguably the biggest accomplishment, however, is four-straight team championships for Kapaun and seniors Emma Whitaker, Erin Johnston and Vivian Brown.

The Crusaders (365) won the Class 5A state golf title on Monday afternoon, knocking off St. Thomas Aquinas (second, 377) and St. James Academy (third, 382).

Crusaders golf coach Dan Harrison has been a part of two of these championships and said this group will go down as one of the school's best.

"I'm very proud," Harrison said. "This is an undefeated team... I've coached a lot of high school and college golf and I've never had a team go the whole season undefeated in tournament play."

Whitaker, Erin Johnston and Vivian Brown each finished in the top 20, while Whitaker took home the individual title.

"I just had to keep playing my game and taking one shot at a time," Whitaker said. "That's what I tried to do and the wind was such a huge factor and it affected everybody. I got through it and I'm just so proud of this team."

Winning with this group, however, is what Whitaker said she'll remember most as her career came to a close.

"They mean a lot to me," Whitaker said. "We've worked really hard and we've come a long way as a team from where we started and where we thought we were going to be."
