Former Wichita Southeast High School basketball star Jerrick Harding is still working toward an NBA career, but for now, his journey is keeping him in school. Tuesday, the Weber State standout announced his returning to school for his senior season.
Harding ranks in the top five in scoring in Weber State school history, ranks ninth in career 3-pointers made and 10th in career steals. In his junior season last year, he averaged 21.4 points per game and earned First Team All-Big Sky honors for the second straight year.
In April, Harding declared for the NBA draft, but kept the option open to return to school. On Tuesday, he expanded on his decision to return for a final season at Weber State.
"I would like to thank everyone who has helped me this past month and a half with this draft process," he says. "it's been a very valuable learning experience. To be able to go to the NBA has been a dream of mine since I was about 5 years old. I'm blessed to have had this opportunity and go through this process. I will continue to work endlessly towards my dream of playing in the NBA. With that being said, I'll be back for my senior season at Weber State. I can't wait (to) go to war with my teammates this upcoming season. Let's get to work."
