Blake Bell, former Bishop Carroll and Oklahoma tight end, has signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced.
A 4th year pro from Wichita, Bell was drafted in the 4th round in 2015 by the 49ers where he spent the first two years of his career. In 2017, Bell was with the Minnesota Vikings where he played in 13 games before being placed on injured reserve.
Bell will look for playing time immediately with the Jaguars, where he takes the roster spot of Niles Paul who was sent to IR in a corresponding move.
Coming out of Bishop Carroll in 2010, Bell was one of the nation's top ranked QB recruits, ranking as the #3 dual-threat QB in the nation by 247 Sports. In his senior year for the Golden Eagles he threw for 2,752 yards to go with 32 touchdowns while leading the team to a state semifinal appearance.
