GODDARD, Kan. (KWCH) -- There's nothing quite like the buzz of a football stadium and Friday night lights. But occasionally the game takes a back seat to something just as emotional.
At Goddard Eisenhower last night fans were witness to one of those moments. It was homecoming for the Tigers and Parker May, a student with Down Syndrome, was nominated to be one of the candidates in the homecoming court.
May was nominated by his peers who were obviously very proud of him, and he is one of the managers for the football team at Eisenhower.
In what proved to be a very inspiring moment, May won the homecoming king crown and was joined by Maci Engle at his side as homecoming queen.
Once the game started the Tigers offense had a hard time getting things going. Maize South ended up getting the big road victory over Eisenhower by a final of 28-7.
