Eisenhower boys take down Maize 56-52
Before the game against Maize Friday, Eisenhower’s Jordan Vincent received an honorary ball at center court for his 1,000-point career at Eisenhower, the fourth player in the school’s history to reach the milestone.
He wasted no time showing how he got those points, as he gathered the ball from the tip off and hit a step-back, mid-range jumper to get the scoring started.
That set the tone for the class 5A No. 8 Tigers in the 56-52 win over Maize.
Vincent didn’t just score. He found teammates on multiple occasions, including Ethan Stewart on a three-pointer from the corner.
It seemed that no matter what Eisenhower did, Maize kept coming back. Jacob Hanna kept the Eagles in the game early on with a huge dunk and then a mid-range jumper of his own.
Eisenhower improves to 6-2 on the year and plays Hutchinson next while Maize falls to 4-5 and will face off against Newton in its next game.
