GODDARD, Kan.-- For the first quarter of the Eisenhower versus Goddard boys game, it looked like it was going to be a close game. Eisenhower gets the easy 72-54 win over Goddard.
The Tigers got out to an early lead but a couple big shots got the Lions back in the game. Every time Eisenhower would pull ahead, Goddard was right there to tie things up again.
It wasn't until the second quarter when the Tigers started to build a nice cushion. A strong performance from Jordan Vincent kept Eisenhower pushing ahead.
Jackson Lefevre putting the first points on the board for Goddard, trailing 3-5.
Kerry Broadus underneath fed it out to Spencer Maley who found the bottom of the net.
Goddard answered right back, Braydon Wickliffe up against some tough Tigers defense. He sent it back out to Lefevre and he fired off another three, no problem to tie the game at 9.
David Brogan got the feed from Vincent; turned and tossed it up for a 14-11 Eisenhower lead.
Wickliffe was aggressive under the net, he spun and took it up, laid it in and drew the foul. Tying things up again.
Goddard hits the road for Newton on January 14th while Eisenhower hosts Maize South.
