WICHITA, Kan.--- Both East High and South High girls basketball got out to a slow start in the season opener.
But the Blue Aces took off in the second half especially put up outscoring the Titans by 30 points after halftime and won 54-18.
East held South to only one point in the second quarter and only six field goals all game long. And the Titans only made a third of their free throws, 5-15 attempts. Four girls on South's team contributed points in the season opener.
The Blue Aces made 55 percent of their free throws and hit five from beyond the arc totaling 22 field goals.
East's leading scorer, Tiana Winn, scored more points by herself than the entire Titans team (22).
Akeir Scales followed her up with a 10-point performance.
South's top scorer was Raisha Banks with nine points.
