Dodge City beats Maize in overtime

WICHITA, Kan. Dodge City outlasted Maize in overtime to beat the Eagles at home 50-47. The undefeated demons handed Maize their first loss of the season.

Maize was down by 10 to start the fourth quarter, but a three from junior Sydney Holmes tied the game at 40 to send it in to overtime.

Dodge City's Kisa Unruh hit the game winning three in overtime to send the Demons past the Eagles 50-47.

"I'm very proud, Maize is a great team, they got off to a great start but our girls fought back and we were up big," said Dodge City head coach Kelley Snodgrass. "Maize came back like they're going to because they're fighters but we persevered in overtime and I'm so proud of them."

Dodge City moves on to 3-0 on the season, and the Eagles fall to 2-1.
