Derby stays perfect, handing Maize second straight loss

For a team like Maize that likes to attack the paint as much as they do, they were unable to get anything going against the size of Derby down low in a 44-31 loss Monday night.

The main reason for Maize's struggles in the paint, who else but Kennedy Brown. Not only did Brown lead the way with 17 points for Derby, she had block after block, just daring the Eagles to try and drive the ball on her.

Derby stays perfect, moving to 14-0 with the win and 37-1 over the last two seasons as they chase a second straight state title. Maize falls to 12-3, dropping their second straight game. They'll try to bounce back playing again Tuesday night against Buhler.
