Derby softball's season continues, after a 6-0 win over Topeka High in the 6A State Quarterfinals in Lawrence.
Derby got things going in the 2nd, after Gabrielle Martin started a rally with a triple. A couple batters later, Tatum Haney picked up a couple RBI with a base hit to left. Then another 2 RBI knock from Madi Young made it 4-0, and Derby never looked back.
The Panthers move on to play Washburn Rural in the semifinals Friday. That game time has been moved up to 10:00 am, due to weather.
