Behind a 26 points effort from Gradey Dick, Collegiate closed the game strong to pull away from Andale, earning a road win to improve to 14-3 on the season.
The win gives the Spartans a season sweep of Andale, leaving a clear path toward an AVCTL-IV league title with wins in their final three games.
Dick lead the way early for Collegiate, igniting the team with a block into the rim, rebound and three at the other end, one of two he had in the opening quarter which saw Collegiate lead by as much as 10.
But the second quarter things changed for Andale behind the strong play of Easton Hunter, who had 8 of his team-best 21 in the frame. Cole Landers hit a bucket under the hoop just before the halftime buzzer sounded to tie the game up at 29 entering the break.
After halftime, the size of Collegiate started to become too much with Cole Thornton dropping half of his 16 points in the third, stretching the Spartan lead back to eight.
Again Andale wouldn't go down easy, Jack Nilles started the final frame strong to keep Andale in it, but Gradey Dick's play proved to be too much to keep up with. A 9 dagger three with 2 minutes to go stretched the lead to 8, followed by a thunderous dunk to serve as the exclamation point on a needed road win for the Spartans.
Collegiate will travel to Rose Hill on Friday night; the Rockets are responsible for the Spartans' lone league loss this season. Andale will look to bounce back, playing game three of a four game homestand against Mulvane.
