Cheney softball improved to 14-0 on the season with a sweep of Belle Plaine, winning 7-5 and 14-8.

In game one, Korri Lies gave up just four hits and one walk to lead the Cardinals to the 7-5 victory. Belle Plaine got off to a quick start, taking a 3-0 lead before Cheney tied it up in the top of the fourth. The Cardinals would add two runs in both the fifth and sixth to pull away for the win.

Then in game two, the Cardinals got the scoring started much earlier, taking a 4-0 first inning lead with a two-run triple-- from Lies starting things off. The Dragons cut the deficit to 4-3 in the bottom of the first, but Cheney went off for 8 second inning runs to nearly put the game out of reach.

Lies again pitched a complete game, striking out 10 in game two to get back-to-back victories. The Cardinals had four triples among their 15 game two hits, with Lies leading the way with three RBIs.

Tori Lujan had a huge day at the plate for Belle Plaine, ending game two with four hits including a home run and three RBIs.
