The Central Plains Lady Oilers won their seventh Hilltop Hoops Classic in a row defeating the St. John Lady Tigers by a score of 62 to 19.
St. John won the tip off and scored on a free throw to take a one point lead. They held that lead until the 6:05 mark in the first quarter. After that, Central Plains lead the rest of the game.
Emily Ryan ended the first half with only four points. She did have three assists and three steals in the half. In the second half, she turned up the pressure and added seven more steals and fifteen points.
Ryan lead all scorers with 19 points. Kassidy Nixon added 10 points.
Central Plains recorded 34 points off of turnovers.
The Lady Oilers have won seven out of the eight Hilltop Hoops Classics held at Barton Community College. This game was also the largest point margin for the championship game with 49 points.
The win extended Central Plains' consecutive winning streak to 124 games.
