Central Plains boys cruise for 33rd straight

The Central Plains boys will take a 33-game win streak into the new year. The Oilers overcame a slow-scoring first half to down the Eagles 43-21.

The Oiler seniors were big in the first quarter. Brett Liebl scored eight points and Alex Hickel and Devin Ryan combined for nine more as Central Plains established a 17-9 lead.

Ellinwood shortened the second quarter with perimeter play resulting in just 10 points in the frame. The Oilers led 23-13 at the break. Liebl and Hickel combined for 10 points in the third quarter in an 8-minute stretch that saw Central Plains move ahead 34-13.

Liebl led all players with 18 points and Hickel added 10 points. David Hammeke, Brandon Carr, Kodie McFarren, and Tyler Knop each scored four points for Ellinwood (2-5).
