Carroll stays perfect in GWAL with win over East

Despite East pushing them to the brink in the first set, Bishop Carroll came back to win in straight sets over the Blue Aces, moving to 17-4 on the season.

After playing back and forth for much of the first set, East pulled ahead by 4 points, 21-17, later getting it to 23-20. But Bishop Carroll didn't quit, tying the match at 23 each. East took it to set point, but Carroll forced extra points, taking three in a row for the 26-24 first set win.

The second set was much more decisive in Carroll's favor. The Golden Eagles jumped out of the gate quick, scoring the first four points and didn't slow up on their way to a 20-6 lead. But East was able to put together a furious comeback, scoring 8 of the next 9 points but it turned out to be too little too late as BC took the set 25-17, and in turn the match.

The 9th ranked Golden Eagles move to 18-4 overall on the season, while East goes 1-1 on the day to sit at 22-7 on the year.
