Carroll outlasts East in defensive slugfest

WICHITA, Kan. Bishop Carroll and Wichita East girls teams headlined a competitive match-up that went down to the final minutes with the Golden Eagles winning 38 to 32.

Both teams fought for a lead in this game but as soon as one would find success, their counterpart would answer.

Carroll, led by junior Khloe Schuckman, used a mix of outside shots and cuts to the lane to score a majority of their points. Defensively, the group tried to force East into turnovers by pressing a majority of the game and trying to limit touches in the paint.

The Aces offense consisted of a post oriented focus using Akeir Scales and Sharifa Love's height advantage over the Golden Eagles. Tatem Adair was a focal point for the Aces from the point guard position.

This game would go down to the wire before Bishop Carroll was able to take away the win with a key free throws down the stretch.
