Carroll beats Kapaun for third time in Sub-State Holy War

WICHITA, Kan. - The saying goes, it's hard to beat a team three times in one season. For Bishop Carroll, the third win over Kapuan Mt. Carmel might have been the smoothest win of the series, a 46-32 victory to complete a three game sweep of the Crusaders.

The game was tied through a quarter at 11 apiece until Carroll went on a run in the second, scoring the first 11 points to double Kapaun up and start to pull away.

The Crusaders got the deficit as close as 7 after halftime, but that's as close as it would get with Carroll pulling away for the 14 point win.

Carsen Pracht led the way for Bishop Carroll with 14 points, all coming before halftime. Alex Littlejohn added 11, 8 of them coming after the break to put the game away.

The Golden Eagles will host McPherson with a trip to the state tournament on the line Saturday night, the Bullpups coming off a thrilling 88-86 overtime win over Newton that saw Jace Kinnamon hit a game tying three just before the end of regulation. It will also be the same matchup on the girls side, with McPherson hosting the Bishop Carroll ladies Friday night.
