Behind a career high 31 from Katie Wagner and a 17-0 first half run, Maize South rolled to a 66-25 home win over Ark City to close out the fall semester Friday night.
Ark City got things started quick, hitting each of their first six shots to go up 13-8.
But the Maize South defense got going from there, forcing turnover after turnover to take the lead, scoring 17 unanswered and holding the Bulldogs to just 5 points the rest of the half, taking a 33-18 lead to break. Wagner had 16 in the half.
Then after the break, Wagner continued her torrid pace, making six straight points to open the half and the Mavs never looked back in the 41 point win.
