WICHITA, Kan. - The GWAL boys swim and dive meet was held at Heights Friday.
There's just two weeks until the state swim meet in Topeka.
The first event of the night, the final stretch of the boys 200 yard medley final. Kapaun's Austin Schmidt is out in front. Heights' Austin Russell is in the lane to the right a couple seconds behind but Schmidt pulls away and Kapaun wins that race with a time of 1:41:99.
Next up, the boys 200 yard freestyle final. Carroll's Quade Harris getting more and more separation, no one even close to him and the Golden Eagles win that one with a time of 1:46:75.
The third event of the night, the boys 200 yard MI. Final stretch, East's Jason Ooten has the clear lead on the turn but in the lane to his left North's Isaac Hadorn is gaining on him. East's Ooten pulls off the win with a time of 2:02:21.
Now for the sprint, the boys 50 yard free style final stretch and it's Heights' Ethan Jensen in lane two with the lead. He finishes in first with a time of 22.56 seconds.
