Bishop Carroll got the season sweep of Kapaun Mt. Carmel Tuesday, winning 5-1 to start the day then 9-0 in game two of a doubleheader.
In game one, Reagan Smith went a complete 7 innings to get the victory, holding Kapaun to just three base hits while striking out five.
The game was scoreless until the bottom of the third when Carroll came through at the dish, scoring largely due to good baserunning on balls that didn't get out of the infield. Kaylin Watkins got things started with a bases loaded sac fly, then followed that with three straight runs coming on infield singles in the fourth inning to help get it to a 5-0 lead.
Kapaun got their lone run in the fifth inning to cut into the lead off of Smith, but it wasn't enough as they suffered their third loss in game one.
In game two, Carroll got things going in a hurry with a 6 run first putting the game out of reach in what was a 9-0 shutout win. Kaylin Watkins pitched a complete game, conceding just five hits in the win. Emma Green, Paton Schoenfield and Kadence Brewster were responsible for two RBIs each in the win.
Carroll now sits at 8-0 on the year, while Kapaun falls to 4-4.
