Kapaun Mt. Carmel girls basketball came into the Holy War with a worse record than Bishop Carroll. The Crusaders came out fighting fast but fell behind early due to fouls reaching the double digits.

Looking at the second quarter, Autumn Trail kicked it back out to Kendall Forbes who knocked down the three to put Carroll up 21-10.

Then stand-out Kapaun post, Ella Anciaux had the ball inside, she spun and tossed it up and in. Crusaders trailed by nine.

Sophia Gimino lobed it to Jennifer Jacobs under the net, she laid it in no problem and Kapaun narrowed the lead 26-20.

Still chipping away at the deficit, Kelsey Bruening launched up the triple and the Golden Eagles extend their lead 33-28.

Forbes saw an opening and took it in herself, driving the lane with contact and found the bottom of the net. Carroll with the edge, 36-38.

Sealing the deal Anna Wineland bounced it around to Hannah Landwehr, putting on the spin move and caught all net.

Kapaun making the comeback but too little too late, Bishop Carroll wins 50-49.

KMC will host Northwest on Tuesday, Jan. 21st while Bishop Carroll hosts North.
