EMPORIA, Kan. The Basehor-Linwood Bobcats faced a fourteen point deficit at halftime trailing defending 5A state champion Bishop Carroll. The Bobcats stormed back to win the game 69-68 to move on to the 5A championship game.
Bishop Carroll dominated the first half of action shooting 10-18 from the floor. Tanner Mans and Carsen Pracht each scored a team high 15 points on the night followed by Enrique Lannkford with 14. The Golden Eagles were ahead 30-16 at intermission.
The Bobcats were down early, but not out of the game at any point outscoring Bishop Carroll in the second half, 53-38. Basehor-Linwood scored 30 points in the fourth quarter alone.
Connor Younger led all scorers with 21 points-- all of which came in the second half. Younger was 5-11 from three point range and a perfect 2-2 from the free throw line.
Trevor McBride, a freshman for Basehor-Linwood added eight points in the second half of play, including a pair of threes down the stretch that put the Bobcats within striking distance.
Kobe Sifford added 10 points for the Bobcats.
Bishop Carroll have a rematch against Maize for third place while Basehor Linwood will take on Andover Central for the 5A state championship.
