Balanced Derby attack leads to big 6A win

WICHITA, Kan. 2nd seeded, and defending state champion, Derby used a balanced scoring attack to cruise past Shawnee Mission Northwest, 60-27 Thursday night at Charles Koch Arena. 5 Panthers scored at least 8 points in the win.

Leading the way with 10 points apiece, Katelyn Kennedy and Kennedy Brown. Brown added 10 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 5 assists.

Sydney Nilles, Tor'e Alford, Jaidyn Schomp each scored 8 points.

Derby advances as the lone unbeaten team remaining in the 6A girls bracket. Top seeded Liberal, who came into the tournament without a loss, dropped their game earlier in the day.
